This is a Developer Diary for Tales of Xdripia: The Seventh Amulet. It covers the week ending 5 November 2026 and is built from the studio's weekly progress summary. Official site: talesofxdripia.com.
Earlier diaries followed environments, prop density and Codex architecture. This week the centre of gravity moved to party presentation and core systems foundations on Unreal Engine 5.8. Two focused Dev Logs already went live on Arcadian Pixels — one for Brad, one for Dripia and the pause menu — and this Friday diary is the weekly synthesis around them, not a rewrite of those posts.
Where the week stands
The short version:
- Brad received a presentation pass in UE 5.8 (cloth and cape, hair under Lumen and backlight, locomotion and ragdoll feel, equipment presentation for shield, gadget and sword).
- Dripia entered the party as a first-pass MetaHuman character in UE 5.8; look, hair and animation are still work in progress.
- A new firearms foundation was started in C++ for the party combat kit; combat balancing and QA are still ahead.
- A tagged VFX catalog was put in place so ability and gear effects stay consistent.
- Menus moved forward on two fronts: equipment menu VFX polish ("atelier" presentation) and a new interactive pause / inventory menu (UI/UX and QA still open).
- Equipment set design for Brad is underway as intention only — numbers and bonuses are not final, and there is no Systems implementation yet.
- World and import work continued on Verdalia props, densità lanes, CyberHaven greybox and a Palazzo Consiglio pass. Many GLB assets still wait import; the pipeline continues.
This diary reports progress on those foundations. It does not announce a playable build or a release date.

Brad takes shape
Brad is the first character we have been pushing hard through presentation in Unreal Engine 5.8: cloth and cape, hair under Lumen and backlight, locomotion and ragdoll feel, and equipment presentation for shield, gadget and sword.
That work is already documented in the Dev Log Brad Takes Shape: Physical Movement and a New Ruins Area. This diary only records that the Brad presentation lane is active in production and continues to set the bar for how party members should look and move in engine.
Dripia steps into the party
Dripia entered Unreal Engine 5.8 as a first-pass MetaHuman character. Look, hair and animation are still unfinished; the goal was a usable character in the same production space as Brad so party work can proceed side by side.
The companion Dev Log is Dripia Steps In: Firearms and a New Pause Menu. Together with the Brad post, it marks the shift from environment-first progress into party presentation as a standing track.
Firearms foundation
On the systems side, a new firearms foundation was started in C++ for the party combat kit. The work is structural — get the kit into the engine so it can be tuned with the rest of the combat tools. Combat balancing and QA are still ahead.
VFX catalog
A tagged VFX catalog is now in place so ability and gear effects stay consistent as more content lands. Quieter than a spell showpiece, but it keeps later ability and gear passes from diverging in look and naming.
Menus: atelier and pause
Two menu tracks moved this week.
Equipment menu VFX
The equipment menu received a VFX polish pass aimed at an "atelier" presentation — clearer feedback when inspecting and comparing gear, without claiming a final UI.
Pause and inventory
A new interactive pause / inventory menu is under construction. UI/UX and QA remain open. The intent is a single place where players can pause, review inventory and move between related screens without leaving the same menu family.
Equipment sets (design only)
Design work is underway on equipment sets with Brad as the first focus. The schema is locked as intention only. Numbers, bonuses and any Systems implementation are still ahead, and we are not publishing figures here. This remains early design, not shipped gameplay.
World and import pipeline
Alongside party and systems work, craft and import lanes continued:
- Verdalia props
- densità work
- CyberHaven greybox
- a Palazzo Consiglio AAA pass
These are production lanes, not finished-area claims. Many GLB assets still wait import into the editor. The import pipeline continues; there is nothing flashy to show from those lanes this week, and we prefer to wait for showable captures over stretching greybox or incomplete densità into a public claim.
Why this matters
Earlier diaries spent most of their space on places and props. This week folds the party and the systems that support them into the same Unreal Engine 5.8 production track. Brad and Dripia set the presentation bar; firearms, the VFX catalog and the menu work give those characters something coherent to stand on. World import continues in parallel so environments do not stall while the party catches up.
That is how a Universe stays one world as characters and systems land beside the places already in progress.
What comes next
- Continue Brad presentation polish in UE 5.8.
- Advance Dripia's look, hair and animation past the first MetaHuman pass.
- Take the firearms foundation through combat balancing and QA.
- Keep the VFX catalog current as new ability and gear effects arrive.
- Close open UI/UX and QA items on the pause / inventory menu.
- Keep equipment set design for Brad as intention until numbers and Systems are ready to discuss.
- Continue world craft and the GLB import pipeline without framing unfinished areas as done.
There are no in-game screenshots in this diary. Nothing new was approved for public capture this week, and we prefer real captures over inventing imagery out of context.
