Seventh Amulet Dev Log: Vehicles, Architecture and a Creature Pipeline

UE 5.8 port moves into gameplay systems: hoverboard in-engine, Council Palace second pass, experimental bestiary pipeline, pyromancy Niagara lab, greybox for new areas.

This is a Developer Diary for Tales of Xdripia: The Seventh Amulet. It covers recent work on the Unreal Engine 5.8 port. Official site: talesofxdripia.com.

The last public diary closed out Verdalia props and Codex architecture galleries. This update is about the next step: moving from environments into gameplay systems — vehicles, creatures and spells.

Where things stand

  • The first overworld vehicle, a hoverboard, is look-approved and imported into Unreal Engine 5.8. In-level tuning continues.
  • In Xdripia City, the Council Palace received a second art pass and was re-imported into UE 5.8.
  • An experimental bestiary pipeline is under way, from concept art through Blender into Unreal. The first pilot passed art review.
  • Niagara VFX for the first magic school (pyromancy) are being assembled in a lab level.
  • New world areas remain in greybox and visual reference only.

This diary reports progress on the pipeline. It does not announce a playable build or a release date.

First vehicle and architecture

The hoverboard is the first overworld vehicle inside UE 5.8, with Nanite and emissive materials. Grip and materials are still being tuned in-level.

The Council Palace in Xdripia City got a second, higher-quality pass so the building stays aligned with the reference standard for the city.

Creature and spell pipelines

On the creature side, the studio is locking a repeatable route from concepts to a Blender rig and into Unreal, with basic animation checks along the way. The first pilot is entering the engine; we are not showing or naming it yet.

For spells, pyromancy Niagara systems are in assembly and lab testing. Captures will come later, when they are ready to show.

Why this matters

The UE 5.8 port began with places. It is now folding in the systems players will use — vehicles, creatures and spells — through pipelines that can scale. That is how a Universe stays one world as the content grows.

What comes next

  • Finish hoverboard in-level polish.
  • Continue the first creature through Unreal integration.
  • Keep building the pyromancy lab systems.
  • Leave new areas in greybox until they earn a showable pass.
